TRACK YOUR PROGESS
MOTIV PILATES POINTS
EXPLAINED
Meaghan’s Disclaimer:
Pilates Points is not a perfect science as we are just starting this sort of tracking. The Pilates Points is meant to be a point of interest and should be taken as “directional”. We really like the concept of being able to track your progress, but we expect we will be refining the process to help make the measurement more effective. We welcome your feedback, and thanks for taking this journey with us ~ Meaghan
Overview:
- Pilates Points are earned & tracked every class.
- Each exercise has points allocated for each of the 9 focuses.
- In most cases, exercises have points for multiple focuses.
- The more difficult the exercise, the more points are earned.
What The Points Mean
- The most important measurement will be the Total Points as this will show your overall progress for the 4 weeks.
- Given the points are calculated over a 4 week period, there will be a lot of variability when comparing the focuses.
- You can use the points to help show you what areas of the body might be over or under worked and you can adjust your schedule accordingly
Points Calculations:
- The Pilates Points earned over the last 4 weeks are displayed in the email
- The points are summed in the following ways:
- Total Points
- By Focus Group (Upper Body, Lower Body & Core)
- By Each Focus (see list below)
- Upper Body– Arms, Back & Shoulders
- Lower Body– Glutes, Thighs & Lower Leg
- Core– 6 Pack, Obliques & Deep Core
- The total number of points for each exercise vary depending on the level of the exercise
- Align Exercises = 5 points
- Thrive exercises = 10 points
- Challenge exercises = 15 points
- The percentage change compares the last 4 weeks, to the previous 4 weeks.

The 9 Focuses Explained
Each day has a focus, one of nine different groups of muscles that are the primary target for all the classes that day.
It doesn’t mean it will be the only part of the body… that would be cruel. Approximately a third of the class will be targeting the focus group of muscles while the other two thirds will ensure you get a well rounded workout.
