We’ve been preparing to reopen for over a year now… you’d think I’d have it all worked out by now! But despite all the planning, all the work, all the to-do lists, I still don’t feel ready and a little nervous. Truth is, I always get a little anxious before something important. I still get anxious every time I teach always thinking that I could have done more to prepare.
This time however, I think my anxiety is justified. We are hiring some new staff which is daunting. For a small business like ours, every staff has such a big part to play. Our studio is far from typical and I have high expectations of the team. So, I’m not only am I looking for someone that will be able to lead a great class, That is only a part of it. We want someone that connects to our amazing clients, that believes in what we are doing and most importantly makes our core team better. Figuring out all of that within a couple of interviews is what is giving me anxiety of late as I have come to learn, “Team Work Makes Then Dream Work” and I really want the Dream to Work!
I have faith though. I have to remind myself that I have a pretty good track record for hiring some great people. And just remind myself that I have had success when I value to person, the personality and I feel the fit is right. I strongly believe that “Its good people that make good businesses”,
