Its amazing how warm weather can give you an extra jump in your step. Although summer is not officially here, we are spending a lot more time outside. The kids were somehow able to spend a fair bit of time playing at the beach and in the chili waters of Georgian Bay. I will probably wait until the July long weekend for the water to get a lot warmer before I get into the bay.
Last summer, all the uncertainty seemed to creep into my activity and I wasn’t very adventurous. So, this summer I want to get amongst it, let loose and be ready for anything. There are a couple of things on my do-do list, but it is still growing. On the list is biking , golfing, seadooing, but the one that I am the most excited (and scared) about is paddle-boarding. The plan is to do some early morning (very early – 6am) paddle boarding with my neighbour. It sounds like an amazing way to start the day…until I fall into the water, then I am sure I will be questioning everything. But for now, I am pumped….I think.
Truth be told, I have only been on a paddle board a couple of times and I wouldn’t consider myself “a natural”. As I mentioned, the bay is very cold and I don’t like my chances of staying dry. So, my plan is to sit on the board and paddle like a canoe until bay warms up a little,. Nonetheless, I will be on the water! I can’t wait….well I can wait for the water to get a little warmer. To make sure I am ready for my paddle-boarding adventure, I put together a little workout that will focus on my core, arms & shoulders. I will let you know if it payed off and I was able to stay dry!
Needless to say, I am optimistic about the summer. The news above Covid and the vaccines is very positive of late which has be very optimistic about the possibility of opening the studio this summer or fall. Similar to my summer mentality, my mentality for the studio is to be “ready for anything”.
