Yesterday my big boy turned 6. It is always fun to look back to see how far I have come as a person and as a business in the past 6 years. Before having kids I was fumbling through life working at the studio 7 days a week usually 5 days and 4 nights plus the weekends with no direction or sense of balance in my life. I was exhausted and broke.
Fortunately, Bryce’s arrival forced me to focus and prioritize my time which turned out for the best for both my business and my life. Since our focus was core today I thought I would share with you my core values of running Motiv and ultimately my life:
- Community & Relationships
- Innovation
- Sustainability
- Balance
Community for me is about relationships with members and staff. I felt and still feel that the relationships we all have with each other is the best part of the studio. My focus here was about facilitating those and building a team that valued those relationships was well.
Innovation is about survival. This is more true today than ever, but we aren’t afraid to think outside the box and not just follow what other people are doing.
Business Sustainability is about making smart business decisions to allow us to serve our community for many years to come.
Balance – helping both members and staff live a more balanced healthy lifestyle.
Looking back, it feels like we are doing something right. Despite the pandemic, we are really proud of where we are and we hope all the work we have done over the past year will help get us back on our feet when the pandemic is over. I truly believe our strong core has helped guide us through this pandemic
So in the spirit of focusing on the core, here is a 7 minute Plank Series that will keep your core in check.
